Inspiration notes: 'Last Light' has a double meaning - it is both that moment when the bright sky still lingers after sunset, and what our harvest moon symbolizes as our 'last summer light' before transitioning into autumn. This painting depicts a favorite 'last light' past time - gathering 'round a beach bonfire - a ritual this time of year that both honors our summer and welcomes the anticipated season of gathering to come.
