Collection Preview: Outside the Lines
Outside the Lines
Release April 2nd, 10 am EST.
A collection of figure paintings woven together by patches of lines and colors, resembling a beloved family quilt. May they be a warm colorful embrace, acknowledging that life can be messy, fall outside the lines, and still hold beauty, hope and fascination.
During these times of discomfort and uncertainty, I’ve been asking myself how can I help, and how can WE help?
My family and I are very connected to Benzie County where our home of Frankfort, Michigan is. It is one of the poorest counties per capita in our state, and hundreds of families who typically rely on school meals currently are struggling to put food on the table. This is a hard time for all of us, yet I know there are others suffering significantly more than our family. I’ve decided to donate 5% of my proceeds this quarter to BACN food bank, and with your help I’ll also be giving 5% of my proceeds from this collection to BACN. It’s a humble donation, but I deeply believe a lot of people doing a little can go a long way.
I also want to thank you all for supporting my small business during this time by offering email subscribers FREE SHIPPING (a savings of $30.00!) for the first 24 hours of the collection launch. Dave and I are always so grateful for your support and this business wouldn’t exist without you all.
We are in this together.
I’m currently reading Ninth Street Women: Lee Krasner, Elaine de Kooning, Grace Hartigan, Joan Mitchell, and Helen Frankenthaler: Five Painters and the Movement That Changed Modern Art, by Mary Gabriel. It follows these five women who revolutionized the art world in postwar America. In many ways, our current circumstances feel like an alternative war. Over these past couple of weeks, I’ve been endlessly inspired by the creativity pouring out of people around the world. I’m reminded of the solace art and self expression serve in our culture.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
All paintings are 18x24 on wood panel with the option to be framed in a 2.5” deep neutral maple wood floater frame. They will be signed and ready to hang. I love how the clean cut edges & minimalist frames set some boundaries for my loose brush strokes and playful marks.
Thirteen 18x24” paintings (19.5 x25.5” framed)
$680 framed in a 2.5” deep neutral maple wood float frame.
$600 unframed, wood panels are 1” deep. Edges painted a neutral beige.
Available on April 2nd at 10 am EST. Sign up for my newsletter to receive the release straight to your inbox, with a 24 hour code to receive free shipping!
And for the first time with this collection release, I’m excited to have fresh letter pressed brand collateral, including a certificate of authenticity to save with your painting!
ART FOR THE HOME
A vintage and retro color palette grounds the modern, abstract flair of these paintings. I love how the earth tones woven within each piece easily complement natural textiles and materials. I’m always a fan of figures in a bedroom or intimate space, but with the abstract, patchwork composition of these pieces, they are sure to be a unique and eye-catching addition anywhere.
May these pieces remind you of that favorite beach towel or passed down family quilt - a symbol of comfort during this season. Life can be messy, fall outside the lines, and still hold beauty, hope and fascination.
xx,
Katherine
